City of Suzhou has been on my wish list for long time already. Despite the fact I have passed the city countless of times, seeing it in a distance through the window of a speed train, I never, somehow, managed to visit this city of which I heard so many beautiful things. Until now… Finally!
Why is Suzhou so special!? The city’s canals, stone bridges, pagodas, and meticulously designed gardens have contributed to its status as one of the top tourist attractions in China.
It was a beautiful autumn day. Ideal for visiting one of the Suzhou’s classical gardens. Gardens in Suzhou have an ancient history. More than 200 gardens existed in Suzhou between the 16th and 18th centuries. They were built according to the style of Chinese paintings. I payed a visit to the largest private garden in Suzhou, built in 16th century. It belonged to an imperial censor, Wang Xianchen.
The day had already gradually shifted into the evening, but the sun light was just right that the whole palette of autumn colors was still visible. One of my bad habits is, I never take much pictures, but this time it was different. Overwhelmed and delighted, as before many times, above the colors offered by nature, I automatically started looking for angles and trying to capture best moments with my cellphone’s camera. The weather, the sunlight, the colors, the garden itself… everything was just perfect!
