I don’t know why, every now and then, I like to keep a record of the accommodations (apartments) I stayed in!? Maybe because, I have nothing else to write about. I have left out many accommodations, I have lived in so far, but this time I will note another one and probably not the last one. I believe no one cares of this, but I am writing about it just for fun and to keep a memory of this new chapter in my life for later.
Just over three months ago, I moved from a 32 floors high and extremely populated skyscraper in Changning district – Shanghai, to a slightly more distant Minhang district, in, to me, already familiar Longbai Xincun area, where I like it very much and where the location suits me very much too. From the skyscraper, where I lived in an apartment on the 27th floor, for as many as 2 years and 4 months, longest from any accommodation I previously lived in, when abroad – I have now moved to a small building, on the 4th floor. The building is old, but very well built, with thick walls. The first two floors of the building belong to few restaurants, bar, small Kadi shop, yoga and karate club. Despite the bustle of Hongsong Road, just next to which the building is located, it is very quiet inside the neighborhood. Just sometimes the quiet night is interrupted by the vibrations of music from a small bar on the ground floor where they have karaoke or in China so-called: KTV, but luckily it doesn’t bother me too much during sleep. Such things as this KTV must sometimes be taken into consideration, when living in such a dynamic and large city as Shanghai.
Now I’ve been living here for 3 months and I’m extremely pleased. The apartment is small, but it has everything I need. To be honest, I don’t even know, if I know how to live in big apartments. Let’s leave the fact that a small apartment is much easier to have neat and tidy, which is a big plus for me – but I just currently do not need more, simply as that. For the past ten years, I’ve gotten used to small living environments in all conditions – whether I shared an apartment with someone and had just a room to myself, or stayed in hotel apartments – so I enjoy living in simple and small places, all I require is a window, peace and cleanliness. Let us see how long I stay here, before moving somewhere else…
