I was selected for the new 2022 Londa Polo campaign. The Londa Polo is a well-known brand in China, more and more present internationally as well. The idea of the brand comes from traditional British horse racing, which Londa Polo use as its own unique style, and integrates it into the product design concept. It reinterprets the wardrobe of urban men, using British design, which is classic & casual. The photo shoot took place in one of the studios in Hangzhou, on 4th of December 2021.
Hangzhou, a city of 10.36 million people (2019) and the capital of China’s Zhejiang province, is the southern terminus of the ancient Grand Canal waterway, which originates in Beijing. It is one of the most developed cities in China. The city started to flourish with the construction of the above-mentioned canal. It is the longest canal (artificial river) in the world, and connects Beijing in the north and Hangzhou in the south. The city of Hangzhou lies by the West Lake. A lake, celebrated by poets and artists since the 9th century, encompasses islands, temples, pavilions, gardens and arched bridges. On its south bank is 5-story Leifeng Pagoda, a modern reconstruction of a structure built in 975 (A.D.). Hangzhou is not famous only for its canal and lake, but for its tae and silk as well. Ever since ancient times, Hangzhou, known as the “Capital of Tea in China”, has been famous tea-production base in China. It is also a historic center of China’s silk production and it has always been regarded as the “Silk City”. Hangzhou is one of China’s seven ancient capitals and has been designated a “Historic and Cultural City” by the government. Its history can be traced back over 2200 years to the Qin dynasty (221-206 BC).
Besides me, there were two more models on the set, Romano from Ukraine and Kas from China. I don’t have any special anecdotes to share from the photo shoot with you guys, except that it took place in a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere with British interior and accessories from the world of horse riding, and most importantly, I was surrounded by a great team all day. Some behind-the-scenes pictures can be viewed in the gallery below.
